SonyEricsson/SEMC Browser

The SonyEricsson SEMC browser is a XHTML-capable browser with a few neat aspects that may be useful to know. Most of these notes are based on the and / versions of the browser, but they're likely to be applicable to both earlier and later models.

UTF-8 Support

The browser reports UTF-8 support (in the UA Prof), and I've found no issues with it so far (but then I can't really test for full support).

CSS Support

The SEMC browser supports CSS to some extent, and the following formatting is known to work reliably:

  • img { border: none; }
  • div background colors (table background colors should work too, but I haven't tested them thoroughly)
  • font-size: small
