Jason Snell takes a first look at the public beta of iPadOS 26 and its significant shift in how the iPad will handle multitasking and productivity, and I’m tempted to upgrade myself although I know I likely won’t because I value stability very highly these days, especially in devices I use to try to relax.
This despite Apple’s new windowing system now offering the flexibility I’ve been wanting for years–but I don’t really feel like I want to deal with Liquid Glass and lack of legibility, for starters.
But I am looking forward to improved file handling and seeing how my Azure-based shortcuts compare to on-device and Apple’s cloud AI, so I have plenty to mull over.
