I’ve only just managed to read this in its entirety, and being late to the speculation game I can only add a very specific data point: A while back, when I was the product manager for Blackberry devices at my previous employer, and just prior to the launch of the first iteration of the Blackberry Storm, I had a long and very frank exchange of views much along the same lines with a couple of folk at RIM. The author of this letter is unbeknownst to me, but nearly everything he covers has been on the minds of RIM staffers for a long while now - and I wish them all luck, given that it’s been a very long time and, obviously, things haven’t improved internally.
