In case you’re wondering, I’ve done a set of quick(ish) hacks on the site CSS in preparation for taking a deeper dive and redesigning the whole thing again.
For what I believe to be the first time (ever), I’m using Georgia pretty much everywhere, cranked up the whitespace and boosted image thumbnail resolutions (at least in the linkblog), to make them look better on retina displays.
The spur-of-the-moment off-white background also feels nicer, especially on mobile devices (I’ve tweaked the media queries ever so slightly, too, to fix some regular annoyances).
Next up will be further CSS tweaks for code and whatnot, navigation changes, a new homepage, and perhaps some web fonts - but I’ll do those piecemeal.
