Via a colleague of mine, I just received word that one of the premier Apple resellers here in Portugal is hosting a moving venue (a day in the north of the country and another further south) during which people are invited to come over and try out five new Intel Macs... running Windows.
The pitch goes something like this (translating for the benefit of my usual readership) -
Come and visit us to experience the power of the new Apple models natively running Windows XP Home, Windows XP Professional and Windows 2003 Server.
Here's their traveling circus with typos fixed - the original mail had more than a couple, not the least being that they persist in mis-capitalizing the model names:
- Mac mini Core Duo - Win 2003 Server
- Mac mini Core Solo - Win XP Home
- iMac 17" Core Duo - Win XP Pro
- iMac 20" Core Duo - Win XP Pro
- MacBook Pro Core Duo - Win XP Pro
I guess it's a strategy - but one that is quite beyond the screensaver I saw a few days ago.
The thing that amazes me is that they went and e-mailed people telling them to come and behold a mini running 2003 Server.
I live in a sad, sad country.
