Awesome landscape shots, and a pretty good review of the Ultra in real life conditions, but I cannot help but remember Garmin’s quip about measuring battery life in months, not hours.
I actually expected the Ultra to last three days without a charge, because that is what I would want if I went on a weekend trip. But no, in low power mode, after nearly 12 hours of trekking, it was at 47%, and only 10% above the Series 7 (although it would still arguably be doing more, at least mapping-wise).
It can probably last an entire weekend in “regular” use, but as someone who charges their current Apple watch during breakfast and otherwise wears it 24/7, what I want is a watch that lasts me at least an entire week in regular use, and 2-3 days in “outdoor” mode.
Not that I’ve been truly outdoors in the past few years, sadly (only a few times to the countryside, and even then to places where I would have power), but the expectation is still there, and seemingly remains unfulfilled.
