I’ve been trying to muster the energy and patience to build a desktop PC (for several reasons), and the GPU situation is still dire price-wise, but noise, cooling and power consumption are things I’m acutely aware of as I consider various parts, and this trend towards GPUs that cost as much as a game console and take up two thirds of your PSU power budget just isn’t helping.
