I was quite excited about this until I realized that any family accounts still need to be Facebook accounts, which makes the feature completely useless for our family – we’re not going to create Facebook accounts for my kids, period, and I’m still hoping they will reinstate Oculus accounts sometime in the future.
This and the recent ruckus about WhatsApp data sharing policy changes (which caused Signal to go under yesterday as a result of massive attempted migrations) make me think Facebook is just completely tone-deaf where it regards how people currently regard its primary brand and services.
