Well, now we know that the Ultra chips have their own lifecycle. And it’s pretty impressive to read that the M3 Ultra has 2x faster performance than the M4 Max, which in itself is already a beast.
But the availability of half a terabyte of (eye-wateringly overpriced) unified memory is a game changer for a lot of people, and I can see this being a hit with the AI crowd.
Although, to be honest, I find the new Air a lot more interesting. I still wish they had a 12” model (and don’t really care about the blue color), but an M4 on an entry-level laptop is very interesting (even if Apple still insists on comparing it with the Intel version for some stupid reason).
We’ll see how they all fare in reviews–especially where power consumption is concerned.
