End of the road for the Xserve ➹

Can’t say I’m surprised. I do hope there is a server version of Lion (priced more sanely than the current one), but I’m not holding my breath.

Perhaps someone can repackage portions of Server packages (such as the LDAP, mail and Wiki servers) and release them for Linux - now that would be something, especially if they had access to the server management APIs.

As to the usual rumors of Apple letting OSX run on third-party hardware on account of this, I’d be very surprised indeed.
