The interesting thing for me isn’t that he’s Portuguese or that he’s doing it on an iPhone - it’s that this (and the New Yorker cover he drew) will probably be heralded as the point where digital art stopped being about sitting in front of a computer using something like a Wacom Intuos. You can bet that finger-painting will be the next big thing in graphics hardware accessories from now on (and maybe finally something will be able to make full justice to Painter’s abilities).
