I missed this one yesterday - and think it is the perfect example of why sales rankings aren’t indicative of anything in particular. There are actually two counter-effects here: First off, the US is a mobile microcosm - nothing that happens there has any relationship whatsoever to world trends (and this goes both for and against the iPhone, by the way), and second, the 83XX series is both one of the most popular business devices ever and being heavily discounted due to the 8900 (partially) taking its place. So yeah, grab a sack of salt whenever you read this kind of news, and think your way around it.
