Here’s something that never even had a leg to stand on. My original take on WiMAX (now dated five years ago) was pretty prescient, and given that Ericsson (like other vendors) pulled the plug on their network gear well over a year ago, I’m surprised that Nokia even had actual product to discontinue (oh, and as per my notes the device was announced on April 1st 2008…). Not to mention that forecasts of 12.4 million WiMAX subscribers by 2010 now look plain silly against the current size of current 3G and HSPA customer bases.
