A notorious Portuguese ISP is apparently (BabelFish) redirecting MSN searches (and DNS resolution of *.com, *.net and *.nu domains) without any permission (or legality, as far as anyone can ascertain):
This is the sort of behaviour that gives me the creeps, and is not at all justifiable as "a nicer 404" for the whole Internet. None of the ISPs I worked for would ever resort to this sort of approach, which I rate right up there with putting Flash pop-up ads in proxy error messages, mugging old ladies, and microwaving kittens.
Heck, I hope they get sued out of business (or get a strong reprimand from the likes of ICANN and the local regulation authority) for redirecting DNS like this - or, at the very least, that they lose enough customers to learn their lesson.
