Knoppix
So it turns out somebody had already made a really easy to install version of Debian (at least for desktops - what I wanted was a decent version for servers, with RAID drivers, a fully up-to-date kernel and the like…). It’s called Knoppix, was designed to run entirely off a CD (with lots of common software), and there’s a very simple HOWTO for installing to disk.
Maybe. If they can convince me. If I didn’t already have apt for Red Hat and real support for all server hardware.

Quakin’
Graeme Devine posted a new version of the PR 1.32 for Quake III Arena (test 5), and it seems another one is on its way.
(I hope so, because the new input routines are messing with my aim…)
