Hamachi is a controversial P2P VPN solution that has enjoyed some success due to its ease of use and cross-platform interoperability.

Despite some positive reviews of its security model, the fact that the core implementation is not open source and that it is moving towards a tiered “premium” model with added features puts many people off, and many have preferred to use tinc instead.
