Well, this is going to be fun. Azure Stack was always a very hard sell, but being able to centrally manage all kinds of infra and data services (as well as deploying them to Kubernetes) anywhere, with a common security model? That is something corporates are going to be really interested in.
Of particular interest to me (due to my current role as a data architect) is this bit: Customers now have the flexibility to deploy Azure SQL Database and Azure Database for PostgreSQL Hyperscale where they need it, on any Kubernetes cluster.
Let’s see how it pans out. There were plenty more announcements during the Ignite keynote, but this is sure to have been the hardest to figure out by the uninitiated, and is the most interesting to me.
