Apple’s termination of the only person who apparently kept automation alive on macOS is another ominous sign.
AppleScript has been brittle for years (with new versions of apps often losing features and sometimes entire scripting dictionaries) and the various scripting bridges have always been largely undocumented, but they were what allowed a lot of people (including me) to have moderately decent automated workflows.
If that’s going away, then macOS will lose another distinguishing feature and I might as well go Linux all the way.
(Incidentally, these links are posted using Workflow on iOS - I rely on automation there, too, and Apple never bothered to even try to tackle that…)
