Outlook.com now has IMAP ➹

When I read the bit calling IMAP an “older protocol”, I immediately wondered what jwz would say.

It probably wouldn’t be printable. Still, I’m glad they finally ticked the right checkboxes on all their servers, because it isn’t as if Microsoft didn’t have a perfectly good IMAP server implementation (or two).

But I’m betting they’ve had loads of fun tuning it for their mail store.

Still, I’m glad common sense prevailed. It was just plain stupid not to have IMAP, with or without IDLE support.
