Kind of ironic to read this in a US-centric site, but glad to see it happening at last. Back when I worked in mobile planning, it was stupendously frustrating to watch international fibre interconnects being rolled out while roaming tariffs kept being artificially pegged up (and sometimes vastly inflated). It might have been a standard business practice back then, but I’ve never cared for business practices that made things worse for the customer.
