If true (and I have no ready way to check this), it’s a colossal faux pas from Apple.
The Portuguese LTE spectrum auction (local copy comprised the
800/1800MHz and 2.6GHz bands (as is the norm in most of Europe), so if
Apple sells the AT&T model here, it will be pretty useless - yeah,
sure, we’ll get faster HSPA
, but we’ll miss out on the newly announced
80% population coverage for LTE
, which is due this April. Not this
year, next month.
Come on, Apple, get with the program and look outside the US for a change - all the new chipsets are supposed to be software-configurable anyway.
