Microsoft's Outlook Opens Up To an Uncertain Future ➹

I’m getting a bit fed up with GigaOm’s current trend towards the hyperbole in their headlines, but this is pretty good news - the PST file format has been a nuisance for me every time I (or other folk) had to import corporate mail, but there’s an important bit the article misses out on: libpst and other forensic tools have already pretty much figured out the data format, so Microsoft is just catching up with the real world (I used libpst to import a year and a half’s worth of e-mail - 4 or 5 GB - into Mail when I upgraded to Snow Leopard, so it’s pretty reliable right now).
