Every time I see one of these come along, I immediately think of it as
another solution in search of a problem - in fact, I wonder why people
keep trying to reinvent this particular wheel, since It isn’t as if it
hasn’t been done before - the most public I can remember (and there were
many more that I’ve seen - and opposed - over the
years) was Google Web Accelerator, which,
thankfully, died a quiet death. It
seems that everyone (and I really mean everyone) in the industry has to
have a go at breaking the Eleventh Commandment, when
all it ever adds up to is unnecessary trouble, complexity, and a sub-par
user experience, especially in this day and age of server-side
HTTP optmization and gzip
compression. But hey, if you’re
still on dial-up, be my guest.
