Why indeed? I mean, I’m all for their having the same instinctive (and utterly wrong) gut reaction of trying to protect a failing business model instead of changing, but it isn’t as if there aren’t any alternatives to (over)use of DRM, and even Apple has already gone for simpler (and more customer-friendly) watermarking. Oh, and I’m very glad I got the PRS-505 and can get all sorts of non-DRM formats on it.
