Something I’ve been meaning to mention for a while: If you want Linux that actually works as advertised (including suspend/resume), SLED 10.1 is probably the best bet out there for older Dell laptops.
It comes with the Citrix client pre-installed (version 9.0, which you can update to 10 without any ill effects), and beats the crap out of Ubuntu in terms of integration, usability, and almost complete absence of eyesores, i.e., not only does it come with a default desktop theme that doesn’t suck, the program launchers are actually useful.
Oh, and Evolution worked first time, too, to my utter astonishment (not that I’ll use it).
Grab the September issue of Linux Magazine for an install DVD (that’s what I used).
