Rui CarmoShipping today, at US\$79. I’ve already grabbed the 30-day trial and fully expect to switch to Fusion at the end of it - I have a couple of VMs stored on a DVD that need to be thawed out and made available.
Also of note are Srinivas Krishnamurti’s remarks on the packaging:
We didn’t want to be just another box. We wanted to be proud of the box, just like we wanted to be proud of the software we were building. VMware Fusion has two flaps that open down the middle - think of the monitor opening up down the middle. Each of the flaps has three screenshots showcasing the product while the middle of the box (once you open the flaps) has detailed description of the product.
There’s also a surprise gift in the boxes (which I probably won’t be getting, since I’m likely to go for the download in 30 days’ time).
