That elusive aspect of our working lives that nobody seems to be able to manage properly:

No matter what the ethos of your organization and the amount of effort it puts into building a team spirit, the bottom line is: If you rely on anyone else to motivate you, you're doing your stuff wrong.

i.e., you have to be able to motivate yourself and derive a sense of purpose from what you're doing no matter what (and purpose is, of course, directly linked to your goals and your role in the organization).
