What happened is horrible enough without people turning it into ghoulish linkfests, or inane (I would even say heartless) considerations about how the manifold manifestations of "the net" are handling the events.
In that light, I won't insult my readers by linking to the looping speculation and vacuous commentary that is starting to worm its way into news sites. Anyone can find that sort of thing by themselves.
Fortunately, my friends in London are all OK (although there are a few passing acquaintances and British colleagues that I'll find reassuring to hear from once they find the time to drop me a line).
