Yes, yes, yes, I know Microsoft has launched the Tablet PC. Nothing really new for anyone who’s been following the Pen Services war since the early days - it’s just another version of XP with more polished Pen Services and another form factor for manufacturers.
It remains to be seen whether the Tablet PC is yet another spectacularly expensive device of dubious utility or something truly useful.
VoIP on Pocket PC
TeleSym has a VoIP solution for Pocket PC that looks quite interesting to me (over 802.11b, of course). Remains to be seen whether it’s fully proprietary or integrates with other things, but the concept is interesting.
ActiveSync 3.6
Hmm. This one flew under the radar: Microsoft has updated ActiveSync to version 3.6, which supports the new devices. Install ActiveSync 3.6 with as few as six mouse clicks, without having to reboot your PC or device.
