newspipe

newspipe was my RSS aggregator of choice for a long time, since it can not only read just about any kind of feed in existence, it can also (with some trickery) check changes in regular web pages, run external HTML scraping scripts, and send the results to my mailbox in text-only or full HTML format (complete with attached inline images) and in digest form, which besides being great for archiving and indexing, is also a great timesaver – I never need to leave my e-mail client.

Although I have mostly switched to these days, I still run it for a few specific purposes, and recommend it for anyone who requires true offline support for feed reading, regardless of platform.

There haven’t been many changes to the main codebase, but Giulio Eulisse has been doing some enhancements that bear keeping an eye on.
