Apple Plans to Use Its Own Chips in Macs ➹

I don’t see why this should come as a surprise. The real question is what their developer experience is going to be like, and how accomodating it will turn out to be for those of us who use Macs as primary devices for cross-platform development.

I can see myself using an ARM-based Mac as long as it has a terminal and access to a customizable UNIX userland–but I can’t see myself using anything that does not provide me with a way to have at least nominal interoperability with Linux (virtualization would be super-nice, but I need to have something like brew at the very least).
