The current scandal goes way beyond the usual “you are the product” admonishments and crosses over into dystopian territory, and the worst thing about it is that it was obvious in retrospect.
Not being an active Facebook user (I keep it around mostly as a way to keep tabs on far-flung friends and family), I’ve long removed it from most of my devices because of the recurring updates with squirrelly pseudo-features and battery drain, and now I’m pretty glad I did that.
