Great analysis. Intel managed to kill off most of the competition in the desktop space (remember that NT ran on RISC or when Macs ran on PowerPC) but this time there are a lot more players and a widely accepted reference architecture. And Apple, having their own in-house team, are probably way ahead in the game…
