Rumors, Machinations and Apple stock ➹

I, too, would find it very interesting to watch the SEC cat loose upon the rumor-mongering pigeons, since I’ve often wondered if some rumor or other wasn’t in fact an attempt at stock manipulation. Having a really big news site hit with an official probe or a defamation lawsuit would go a long way to quell some of the stupidity around Apple rumors these days. Remember the blissful quiet after the Think Secret affair? The difference in our days is that rumor mongers have gone tabloid (and, I think, greedy, for pageviews or otherwise) instead of actually having something to peddle.
